Does she look into your eyes while speaking
So to flatter you to death
Does she stare into the empty air
Like she's holding on to every breath
Does she bring up all the ways you two could be together
Just hoping you'll give in and open up
Like a love story in a sealed letter
Does she call your phone, time after time
Just to hear your voice
Does she try to make plans with you weeks in advance
As if every moment of her life is your choice
Does she know just how to cure
Your every feeling of being down
Does she walk to your classroom door
Even when she knows you won't be around
Does she write your name
On every empty page she sees
Or write page after page
Of catchy but useless rhyming poetry
And still doing this although knowing
That no words can describe how she feeling
Does she dedicate to you
All the words of love she hears
Does she talk about you endlessly
Or at home do you leave her mind
along with her tears
Do the smiling words that she says
Sound full of life in every breath
As if every word you hear from her mouth
Is reason to believe you couldn't do without her

I kissed you at the apex of the maelstrom and asked if you would accompany me in a quick fall, but you made me realize that my ticket wasn't for two.
I rode alone.
